There are many variations on frames, we just want to give a quick flavour of some tricks
and tips to make the most of your framing skills.
Before you start this lesson you really need to have completed Lesson 1.
You may also want to download the Complete Framing Kit with 100
scans ready to use.

Tiled Frames |
|
You can create a frame with a tiling image very quickly.
This frame was made just by filling an outer rectangle with a tiling stone background.

|
Bevelled Edges |
|
Created using the standard method, and with the whole frame selected a bevel has been added.
This particular one was Eye Candy's Inner Bevel, but any of the standard bevel plugins,
or our cutout
technique will achieve the same effect.

|
Pre-carved Edges |
|
This uses one of the standard edges, but in this case it is pre-carved. If you are really fussy you may want
to experiment with the length of the fill section to make the corners join up neatly.

|
After Effects |
|
Of course you can apply any effect or filter to your frame. This has had a liberal dose of
Greg Schorno's excellent Paint Engine.

Ornaments |
|
If you can't get a neat corner, or you just want something fancy, why not add a nice little corner
ornament. You can use almost anything as a source.
If the colour does not match, then do this to it.
(1) Convert to grey, then to 16M Colours;
(2) Add a new layer on color blend mode;
(3) select the key colour from the frame and flood fill the color layer.

|
Distressing |
|
Create a new layer in Burn mode. Scribble, draw, pull in graphics, whatever. Apply a good hefty blur,
instant distressed frame.
